About the Doctor
Dr. Megan Violand was born and raised in Southern California and has had a lifelong passion for animals, especially horses. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from South Dakota State University in 2013, where she also competed as a Division I Equestrian athlete. During her time at SDSU, Dr. Violand was recognized for her academic achievement, leadership, athletic performance, work ethic and dedication. Her honors included NCAA All-Academic First Team recognition and the 2013 Jackrabbit Impact Award, a prestigious SDSU Athletics honor celebrating senior student-athletes who leave a lasting positive impact on their team, sport, and university community.
Dr. Violand went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she received the Dean’s Pegasus Award, the college’s highest honor for a graduating student, as well as the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Large Animal Award. After veterinary school, she worked as a large animal veterinarian before purchasing King City Veterinary Clinic in 2023.
Today, Dr. Violand serves as the clinic’s owner and lead veterinarian. She takes great pride in offering empathetic, personalized, and comprehensive care to the pets and animals of the King City community.
